Job Purpose:
- The incumbent would be responsible for setting up the organization’s Compressed Biogas (CBG) business division from scratch, identifying and pursuing new inorganic growth opportunities while driving the division independently. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in renewable energy and a passion for sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Development:
- Develop and implement the business strategy for the Compressed Biogas division.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the CBG vertical, including market entry strategies, business development and growth initiatives.
- Set long-term and short-term goals for the CBG business and ensure alignment with the overall company strategy.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and partnerships.
Business Development:
- Identify and track relevant tender opportunities in the CBG sector. Develop comprehensive and competitive tender proposals in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Ensure compliance with all tender requirements, regulations and guidelines.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations and potential clients. Foster strong connections with municipal corporations as well.
- Lead negotiations and finalize agreements to secure new business deals.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape. Monitor market developments and adjust business strategies accordingly.
Inorganic Growth through Mergers and Acquisitions:
- Scout for new inorganic growth opportunities, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. Identify potential acquisition targets that align with company’s strategic objectives and enhance the CBG business.
- Conduct due diligence to evaluate the financial, operational, and strategic fit of potential acquisition targets.
- Develop and present business cases and recommendations to senior management for approval.
- Manage the entire M&A process, including valuation, deal structuring, negotiation, and integration planning.
- Ensure seamless integration of acquired entities into the organization’s CBG business, aligning processes, cultures, and strategies.
Financial Management :
- Develop and manage the budget for the CBG vertical, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the setup of CBG production facilities, including site selection, equipment procurement, and project management.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Qualification and Experience
- B.E / B. Tech (Chemical – preferred). MBA or an advanced degree would be an added advantage.
- 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with focus on bio methanation, biogas, sugar factories, and waste-to-energy (WTE) projects.
- Strong experience in the fields of Collection & Transport (C&T) and Processing & Disposal (P&D)
- Proven track record in corporate with P&L responsibilities
