Job Purpose:
- The incumbent would be responsible for leading and managing the Strategic and Operational performance of the Quality function across all the manufacturing sites. Administrating / implementing operational and business excellence activities to meet the organizational goals by maintaining required quality compliances.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management Systems:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS, EMS, OHMS) in compliance with ISO standards and other relevant certifications.
- Ensure all quality processes are documented, standardized, and followed consistently across the organization.
Quality Assurance:
- Establish and oversee quality assurance processes, including audits, inspections, and testing procedures to ensure product compliance with specifications and standards.
- Develop quality control plans and procedures, including incoming material inspections, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing product quality, reducing waste, and increasing efficiency.
- Analyze quality performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Supplier Quality Management:
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that incoming materials meet quality standards.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their quality management systems and processes.
Customer Interaction:
- Address customer complaints and concerns related to product quality and develop corrective actions to resolve issues promptly.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their quality requirements and ensuring these are met consistently.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge necessary to perform their roles effectively.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, including environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards and implement necessary adjustments to the QMS.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular reports on quality performance to senior management.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive quality documentation and records.
Qualification & Experience
- M.Tech /B. Tech Mech / Production / Metallurgy
- Minimum Experience: 20 to 25 years in QA & QC Management
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heading QA, QC and Vendor Approval, independently in an Engineering, Process, Manufacturing Company of complex machined parts of Aerospace/ Oil & Gas.
- Knowledge of Raw material, Forging, Rolling, Casting, Welding, Surface treatment (Blasting, coating, painting), Heat treatment.
- Should have knowledge and exposure to all machining process, fabrication and standards like API, ASME, IS, ISO, ASTM, EN etc.
- Should have knowledge of machined components and QC exposure.
- Lead Auditor for IMS/QMS ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc. Knowledge of Six Sigma, Problem Solving using 7 QC Tools, DMAIC, 8D, NPD and GD&T, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, PFEMA, FEMA & product risk assessments.
- Should have ASNT, NDT Level II, PCN level II Certifications.
