Job Purpose:
- The executive will oversee and manage all engineering and maintenance activities at the plant, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation domains. His responsibilities include implementing cost-saving measures and institutionalizing key processes to ensure the seamless operation of plant activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering activities across multiple sites, develop and implement standardized engineering practices to enhance efficiency and consistency across sites
- Transition from traditional engineering practices to the adoption of advanced technologies, ensuring the organization remains competitive and forward-thinking
- Implement proactive maintenance strategies to minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure optimal spare parts management, thereby enhancing plant reliability and reducing downtime
- Partner with various agencies to bring in world class engineering technology/design required to enhance plant productivity
- Ensure reliability of utility systems like boilers, chillers, effluent treatment plants (ETPs), etc.
- Root cause analysis, implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment lifespan and achieve desired targets
- Manage engineering budgets, optimize energy consumption and material usage to reduce operational costs
- Lead safety audits and drive sustainability initiatives, promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across all sites
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and supply chain, to support overall business objectives
- Engage with external stakeholders, such as vendors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
- Establish clear performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure team effectiveness
- Create an environment that sustains and encourages high performance, motivate team in optimizing their contribution levels to achieve organizational goal
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Possess hands on knowledge of the Rotary & Static Equipment’s
- Adept at automation, digitization and newer engineering technologies
- Should have executed several Lean Six sigma projects which contributed to significant cost saving
Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 25+ years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role overseeing engineering activities across multiple sites or managing a large-scale site comprising multiple plants
- Age – Upto 55 years
- Experience in the agrochemical or fertilizer industry is a must
